Build Stability and a Strong Foundation for Basketball
Our simple to follow program layout includes photos, videos and coaching cues for each and every exercise.
The program design will progress you through set and rep patterns for each exercise. Record the date, the weights you lift and any questions you need to ask your coach.
Basketball Junior Level 1 - The aim of this program is to build stability throughout the body and teach the athlete basic movement and deceleration mechanics. The slow and controlled nature of this program will allow the athlete to focus on technique, muscle growth and minimise stress throughout the joints of the body.
Basketball Junior Level 2 - This program builds on what was learnt and performed in level 1. This program will aim continue to improve the stability and patterning of movement for the athlete in order to transfer into more challenging strength and power exercises.
Basketball Junior Level 3 - This program will build on the stability work already done in previous programs by focussing more on loading certain muscle groups that are frequently used in Basketball. Once the athlete is performing movements well, the next stage is to be strong through these movements. The reps will lower so we can encourage you to overload with weight. This will help to transfer the strength and functional size gained from this program onto the Basketball court.
Basketball Junior Level 4 - This program continues to build on the foundation of strength gained from the initial programs. It will also introduce the athlete to power movements that will provide a precursor to the power exercises contained in the senior programs. A major aim of this program is to ensure a holistic foundation has been built for the athlete so that they are ready to progress onto more complex training methods.
